What are the benefits of being an APO?

  • Australian Partner Organisations are exposed to a number of benefits and opportunities through their involvement with the VIDA Program:

  • Develop new or expand existing links with companies, governments and organisations in the Asia Pacific region
  • Exchange skills with in-country Host Organisations
  • Raise the APO's profile within Australia through the participation in regular VIDA publications and website
  • Recruitment of skilled VIDA volunteers to complete the assignment
  • Gain an increased understanding of cultures in new and emerging markets

What is expected of APOs?

APOs provide a range of additional support to VIDA assignments including:

Assisting Host Organisation (HOs) to develop the assignment proposals.
Assisting HOs to source suitable candidates
Acting in a  mentoring role to support the VIDA whilst on assignment
Contributions
Where possible, Australian Partner Organisations are also encouraged to make financial or in-kind contributions to support the volunteer placement and the achievement of the assignment's objectives. Their contribution can also fund additional VIDA volunteers over and above the number funded by AusAID.
